12-06-1972 Regular MeetingPLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
A meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was held in the City
Manager's Office, City Hall, on Wednesday, December 6, 1972. The meeting
was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Czech with the following
members present: Mrs. Ray and Messrs. Lovelady, Williams, Oswalt, Winther
and Jones. City Officials present were: Mayor Don E. Smith, Councilman Smoak
City Manager Hopkins and City Controller Fleming. Others present were:
Mesdames Anderson and Harris and Mr. Arthur Dean. The Invocation was given
by Mrs. Ray.
The Minutes of the Meeting held on November 8, 1972 were approved as written.
Chairman Czech announced a Public Hearing to consider a proposed change
to the Zoning Ordinance to allow living quarters in conjunction with
business operations in commercial districts. Following considerable discussion,
motion was made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Winther, and carried that the
following change in the Zoning Ordinance be recommended to City Council:
Living quarters sufficient to support the operation of a business structure
and secondary to the business operation. The change will apply as a
Conditional Use in C-1 and C-2 Zones.
City Manager Hopkins distributed a proposed Amendment to Section 26-68 of the
Zoning Ordinance on Planned Unit Development for the Commission's Review.
A Public Hearing will be held at the Planning & Zoning meeting on January 2,
1973, on this amendment.
Motion was made by Mr. Winther, seconded by Mr. Jones, and carried that the
meeting be adjourned.
