A regular meeting of the Clermont Planning Commi_ssi~n was
held in the Municipal. Court Room on Wednesday, April 7, 1965.
The meeting was called to order b~~ Commission Chairman Ma.rti..n
Winther at 7:30 P. M. Members present were Messrs. Colegrove,
Seaver, Cantwell, Lyon and McHenry. Absent: Messrs. Addison,
Baird and Vander Meer. Recording Secretar~~ Albert Johnson
was also present.
The minutes of. the meet.inq held March 3, 1965 were approved
as written.
Chairman Winther asked those present to report on the
persons which trek' hack selected to serve with them on their
respective committee. The reports follow:
Colegrove: Se~etion not made.
Seaver: Harold Roberts and Norris Hutchingson
Cantwell: Axel Olivenbaum and ,John Greenlee
Lyon: Selection not made
McHenrv: Selection not made.
Various phases of planning were discussed.
Secretary Johnson reported to the Commission that the City
Council had requested that the Planning Commission cooperate
and assist Mr. Edmond Amateis with his proposed project of
an amphi~eater at Lake Sunnyside Park and that the property
owners immediately adjacent to the area be contacted to
determine if they had any objection to the pr.ojert.
Motion was made by Mr. Colegrove, seconded b~~ Mr. Lvon, and
carried, that the Secretary advise Mr. Amateis that the Plann.i_nq
Commission would extend to him their full cooperation and
that their assistance Baas available upon request.
The possibility of the Atlantic Coast nine railroad combining
the Clermont and Groveland agencies was discussed and motion
was made by Mr. Cantwell, seconded by Mr. Seaver and carried,
that Chairman Martin Winther write Senator Welborn Daniel and
Representative William (Bill) Reedy and express the Planning
Commission's strong objection to the proposal.
Motion by Mr. Lyon, seconded by Mr. Colegrove, and carried,
that meeting adjourn.
