03-03-1965 Regular MeetingPLANNING COMMISSION A regular meeting of the Clermont Planning Commission was held in the Municipal Court Room on Wednesday, March 3, 1965. The meeting was called to order by Commission Chairman Martin Winther with the following additionally named members present: Messrs. Seaver, Addison, Baird, McHenry and Cantwell. Absent: Messrs. Vandermeer, Lyons and Colegrove. Recording Secretary Johnson was also present. The ~in~tes of the meeting held February 3, 1965 were approved as written. Chairman Winther made the following Committee Chairman appointments. (A) Services by the City of Clermont - Oakley Seaver (B) Community Improvements - Items 1 to 7 inclusive - Jay Vandermeer. (C) Community Improvements - Items 8 through the remainder Fritz Addison (D) Growth Trends - Forrest Colegrove (E) Merchant Situation - Leonard Baird (F) Education and Youth Facilities - Dr. E. R. Cantwell (G) City Employees - Fred Lyon (H) Coordinating and Advisory - Richard McHenry Mr. Baird presented and moved the adoption of a Resolution commending the Green Valley Corporation for their efforts in promoting a Country Club and Golf Course. The matter of an ambulance to be stationed in, and operating from, Clermont was discussed. It was the consensus that the best solution would be to endeavor to persuade Kurfiss Funeral Home to extend their service. The matter was referred to Mr. Jay Vandermeer, with the suggestion that he contact Mr. Kurfiss regarding the matter. The possibility of locating a trailer court in Clermont was discussed and it appeared that the principal obstacle to such a venture was available land. Chairman Winther requested that each member give this important matter their serious consideration. Motion was made by Mr. Addison, seconded by Mr. McHenry and carried, that Secretary Johnson write to Mr. Ernest Bauley, University of Florida Planning Specialist and secure all avail- able information on Municipal Planning. Chairman Winther urged each member of the Commission to secure the services of at least two persons - not members of the Commission, to assist them in their Committee work. Meeting adjourned.
