BUDGET WORKSHOP
JULY 20, 2009
The Clermont City Council met for a budget workshop on Monday, July 20, 2009 in the Council
Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Turville called the workshop to order at 6:00 pm with the following
Council Members present: Council Members Mullins, Goodgame, Hogan and Thompson. Other City
officials present were: City Manager Saunders, Administrative Services Director Van Zile, and City
Clerk Ackroyd.
City Manager Saunders provided an overview of the fiscal year 2009/2010 budget.
Staff provided a summary of impact fee funds, projects and revenues.
Council and staff reviewed the following department budgets: City Council, City Clerk, City Manager,
Administrative Services, Legal, Planning and Zoning, Engineering, Police, Public Services, Utilities,
Recreation, and Community Redevelopment Agency.
Council Member Thompson suggested alternative ideas on spending CRA funds in downtown.
City Manager Saunders suggested leaving the $1.5 million in the budget and then Council to decide at a
later date how to spend it.
Council and staff discussed eliminating the employee picnic and allow City Manager Saunders to decide
on an alternative recognition event for employees.
Council Member Mullins suggested building a senior center in place of a community center.
Council discussed Economic Development ideas.
The next budget workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 22 at 6:30p.m.
With no further comments, the budget workshop adjourned at 8:34pm.
