07-14-2010 Workshop City of Clermont MINUTES BUDGET WORKSHOP JULY 14, 2010 The Clermont City Council met for a budget workshop on Monday, July 14, 2010 in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Turville called the workshop to order at 6:00 pm with the following Council Members present: Council Members Mullins, Goodgame, and Hogan. Other City officials present were: City Manager Saunders, Administrative Services Director Van Zile, City Clerk Ackroyd and Assistant City Manager Gray. City Manager Saunders provided an overview of the fiscal year 2010/2011 budget and reviewed possible millage rate options. Council discussed raising the millage rate and transfer funds from the General Fund reserves. Mr. Saunders reviewed significant budget issues that were not included in the budget. Council discussed the various millage rate options as presented by staff. The millage rate of 3.6236 will be placed on the July 27, 2010 meeting agenda. It is necessary for Council to decide on a proposed millage rate at the July 27 meeting in order to meet the advertising requirements. The Council can lower the rate but cannot raise the rate at the September public hearings. Staff and Council discussed the budget public hearing dates to be September 2 and 16 or September 9 and 23. This workshop concluded the budget discussions therefore Council cancelled the previously scheduled workshops set for July 15 and July 19. With no further comments, the budget workshop adjourned at 7:38pm. 1
