MINUTES
COUNCIL WORKSHOP
. SEPTEMBER 8, 2010
The Clermont City Council met in a workshop on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the Council
Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Turville called the workshop to order at 6:OOpm with the following
Council Members present: Mullins, Hogan and Goodgame. Other City officials present were: City
Manager Saunders, City Clerk Ackroyd, City Attorney Mantzaris, and Assistant City Manager Gray.

Quonset Hut Plans
Dolores Walker, Secretary/Treasurer of the Historical Society proposed the Quonset hut be used as
• museum space if turned over to the Historical Society. The Quonset but is unique in shape and
recommended the museum name to be 'A Walk through History'.
Larry Rescoe, South Lake Historical Society member, spoke in support of the request.
• The City Council supported the request.
Jenkins Building Replacement
Richard Bell, Clermont Kiwanis Club, requested the building be named after Oakley Seaver.
Council Member Goodgame suggested naming it the Seaver Center. Mayor Turville and Council Member
• Mullins recommended waiting until we have a building then give the public an opportunity to participate
in the discussion of choosing a name. The Council agreed with the suggestion.
Non- Resident Park Fees
City Manager Saunders requested Council direction on increasing the non - resident fees to use our
facilities. The Council was in agreement to review the fees as well as establish fees for the pavilion.

Electronic Bill Payments
Administrative Services Director Van Zile proposed implementation of electronic payments for all city
fees and charges in Utility Billing, Planning and Zoning, Recreation and the City Clerk's office. Staff
recommended the convenience fee model and processing through a third party processer with a •
convenience fee of 2.75 percent for credit cards and 3 percent for electronic checks. It will he placed on
the next Council meeting agenda. -
• Fall Celebration
Assistant City Manager Gray provided an update on the Fall Celebration. Staff has been soliciting
.sponsors and has raised $26,000. The Council provided $25,000. The event will cost approximately
$60,000. The beer tent has been eliminated and proposed allowing Neer throughout the downtown square.
Mr. Gray presented 2 options. The majority of the Council members present supported option number 2.
Used Items Drop Off Bins
. City Manager Saunders received a request from Red Cross to allow drop off bins for used items. The City

codes do not allow them.
ADJOURN: With no further comments, the workshop was adjourned at 7:03pm.
