New business:
Amy raised the issue concerning the difficulty in patrolling the various parks to prevent unauthorized use and vandalism.
The police department cannot provide the coverage that is required. Amy would like to see a park ranger position added to
her staff to patrol the parks at night and on weekends and report any criminal activity to the police. City Councilman Frank
Caputo recommended that Amy collect documentation of the number of problems that have occurred to help justify the
request. Choice Edwards asked that Amy report this information to the committee next month so that we may make a
formal recommendation to the City Manager.
•
• Bob Beasley reported that garbage was being dumped at the Palatlakaha facility from other facilities and was creating an
odor problem for the neighborhood. Amy will follow up on.
Anthony Trivelh recommended that we look into the possibility of a Senior Olympics in Clemront. He stated that this was
very successful in Coconut Creek in the past. Amy will explore.
Volunteers from South Lake High School will be upgrading the cross bracing at the Eight Street Pier.
