Proclamation
C Reads History Month
- Whereas, Cooper Memorial Library will host a month -long, communitywide reading program
during the month of February titled "Clermont Reads History," and
-Whereas, the Cooper Memorial Library Association, Friends of Cooper Memorial Library and the
South Lake Historical Society support the "Clermont Reads History" program, and
- Whereas, "Clermont Reads History," is part of a nationwide campaign to bring people together
through reading and discussing a common book, or as one observer noted, "the city that opens the same
book closes it in greater harmony," and
- Whereas, the city has supported an interest in literature and literacy from its earliest pioneer days,
and
-Whereas, the residents of Clermont have a longstanding tradition of honoring and preserving the
town's history, we urge our citizens to participate in Cooper Memorial Library's "Clermont Reads
History" program.
Now, Therefore, I, Harold S. Turville, Mayor of Clermont, Florida, do hereby proclaim the
month of February 2011 as "Clermont Reads History Month" and encourage the promotion of and
support for this event within our community.
In -Witness -Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of
Clermont to be affixed this 25 day of January in the year of 2011.
