I 0 c) ORDINANCE NO. lO~ AN ORDINANCE PROVIDIN:> FOR THE CANCELLATION OF ALL UNPAID TAXES AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT LIENS ON PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF CLERMONT PREVIOUSLY OvVNED, SOLD AND CONVEYED TO THIRD PARTIES BY THE CITY OF CLERMONT; AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO. WHEREAS, in the past the City of Clermont by and through its City Councils has caused to be foreclosed various and several lots, pieces or parcels of property on which tEre were outstanding and unpaid taxes and/or special assessment liens due said city; and, WHEREASin the past the City of Clermont by and through its City Councils has caused to be purchased from the State of Florida (Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund) and the County of Lake, and through Tax Deeds issued by the Clerk of the Circuit Court of this county for and in behalf of the State of Florida, various and several lots, pieces or parcels of property on which there were' then outstanding and unpaid taxes and/or special assessment liens due said city; and, WHEREAS, said City of Clermoht by and through its City Councils and officers has sold to various parties many lots, pieces or parcels of property so acquired as above outlined, by Special Warranty Deeds or other deeds of conveyance for valuable considerations without exceptions to any unpaid taxes and/or special assessment liens being included therein; and, WHEREAS, there are now outstanding on the books, tax and lien records of said city unpaid taxes and special assessment- liens against said lots, pieces or parcels of property so sold and conveyed, and same are confusing and misleading to the public, not a true record of said taxes and liens; and, the Clerk of said city is without authority to cancel same of record; and, it appears that any and all sales made subsequent to the city's acquiring title were made free and clear of said taxes and special assessment liens, th~refore, BE IT ORDAINED AND ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA: Section 1. That all record unpaid taxes and special assessment liens due the City of Clermont, prior and subsequent to the taxing year of 1949, on any lots, pieces or parcels of property within the .. . City of Clermont, the title to which the City of Clermont has in any manner acquired/and subsequently sold or conveyed to any third party, shall be cancelled of record by the City Clerk of the City of Clermont, provided in the sale and conveyance thereof the City of Clermont does not convey said property subject to any unpaid taxes and/or special assessment liens then due the City of Clermont. Section 2. This ordinance shall not authorize the cancellat- ion of any unpaid taxes and/or special assessment liens on property now owned and the title thereto held by said city and not under contract of sale, but the subsequent sale and conveyance thereof without exception or made subject to said taxes or liens shall apply hereunder. Section 3.
