Family Emergency Preparedness Week City of CCermont
Proclamation
Whereas, severe weather impacts the City of Clermont, Florida and leaves citizens,
municipalities, and businesses dealing with widespread damage to public and private
property; and
'Whereas, the best defense is preparedness and public education about the dangers of
high winds, storm surge, flooding, and tornadoes which may occur in conjunction with a
hurricane or tropical storm; and
Whereas, in recognition of the need to adequately prepare for, respond to, and
recover from emergencies, it is critical to support educational and awareness programs
throughout the City of Clermont; and
'Whereas, John Markham's Eagle Scout Project is designed to create awareness of
Emergency Preparedness; and
Whereas, Boy Scouts of American Troop 70; sponsored by the Eustis Ward,
Leesburg Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; urge all citizens of
the City of Clermont to become prepared for weather emergencies;
Now, Therefore, I, Harold S. Turville, Jr., by virtue of the authority vested in me
as Mayor of the City of Clermont in the State of Florida, do hereby proclaim the week of
December 3 through December 8, 2012 as
Family Emergency PreparednessWeek
in the City of Clermont and encourage families to recognize the importance of becoming
educated and prepared for weather emergencies.
In Witness 'Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the
City of Clermont to be affixed this 11`'' day of December in the year of our Lord two
thousand twelve.
