AN ORDINANCE CREATING A PUBLIC RECREATION
BOARD PRESCRIBING TERMS OF MEMBERS, ORGANIZATION ,POWERS AND
DUTIES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY The City Counoil
OF THE CITY OF Clermont Florida.
1- There is hereby' established a PUBLIC RECREATION BOARD. This
Board shall oonsist of five (5) members serving without pay. They
shall be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Governing Body,
and one of' the members may be a member of the GoverniDg Body of the
City. The term of' offioe shall be for five (5) years or until their
suocessors are appointed and qualified, except that the members of
such Board first appointed shall be appointed for such terms that
the term of one member shall expire annually thereaf'ter. Vacancies
in such Board occurring ouherwise than by expiration of term shall be
tilled by the Governing Body of the City for the unexpired term.
2- Immediately af'ter their appointment, they shall meet and
organize by electing one of their members President and suoh other
officers 8Ùoh as may be necessary. The Board shall be,.ve the power
to adopt By-Laws, Rules and Regulations for the proper conduct of
public recreation for the city.
3- The Public Recreation Board shall provide, conduct aId
supervise public playgrounds, athletic fields, recreation centers
and any other recreational facilities and activities on any of the
properties owned or controlled by the City, or on other properties
with the consent of the owners and authorities thereot. It shall

have the power to conduct any form of recreation or cultural aoti vity
that will employ the leisure time of the people in a construotive
and wholesome manner.
4- The PUBLIC RECREATION BOARD shall have the power to appoint
or designate someone to act as Superintendent who 1s trained and
