COMMITTEE MEETING
7:00 P.M. MONDAY APRIL 5, 1999
CLERMONT, FLORIDA
MINUTES
I Basha welcomed everyone The sign in
sheet was passed around to take attendance. Starting
tonight those members that miss three consecutive
meetings will be withdrawn from the committee
II A copy of the minutes was given to each
member for review Basha motioned for approval of
the minutes Joe seconds the motion
III Amy Lesner,The new Park&Recreation
coordinator will review the city's fees and charges
Maintenance—it costs the city$186,800 Dollars to
keep up the parks This includes maintenance,payroll,
and utilities Grants are used to purchase land and
improve it,they are not used for the upkeep
Revenue-these are some fees that will be charged to
bring in funds to run the parks
Summer Program— will start in June and run
through July The hours will be from 8a.m to 1p.m
The fees are as follows-Pre-registration discount will
be given before June 4's.
City Residence . .$10 00 wk
Non-Resident $15 00 wk
After June 4th
City residence $15 00 wk
Non-Resident $20 00 wk
Previlians—these are on a 1st come basis If someone
would like to reserve a previlian they will have
priority over the use A contract will be filled out and
time slots will be issued Customer will be responsible
for any clean up Fee's are as follows
Rental(4hrs) . $50 00
Clean up(if needed) (7)
In the contract it should state that renter is responsible
for any clean up or a fee may be charged A vote was
taken,all agreed
League fees-there are only four leagues to Amy
knowledge that uses the ball fields Amy suggested
that these fees remain the same until she can collect
more information on what the cost was for the city to
maintain the fields for league use The league fee is
$45 00 a-team per season This includes little league,

Clemont girl's softball,and Sr men league The
soccer field is used by only one league and their fees .i
are 45 00 a-team per season Amy mentioned to the
committee that the little league has given back to the
community by putting up fencing by the ballfields,and
also putting in batting cages
Concession stand-little league runs the concession
stand The city does not charge them a fee to use the
building Their earning are about$25,000 A year
Amy researched what other parks charge for use of the
concession stand 10%of the earning is what was
suggested A vote by the committee was taken all were
in favor
Baseball fields fees-$10 00 an hour/$20.00 an hour
with lights
Tournaments-$120.00 per team/per field from
7 OOa m to 7 OOp m including lights
Courts fees—This would include basketball,tennis
and racquetball courts To reserve a court for a certain
time a fee will be imposed Amy will work on a fee
schedule This will be discussed in future meeting.
Amy would like the committee's support on all the fee
charges it will help bring revenue to the parks This is
a starting point and any suggestion will be greatly
appreciated

IV. Policy and Procedure-Amy has suggested to
the committee to help set up a behavioral policy and
what action can be taken by the parks&Recreation to
enforce it Amy has witnessed children climbing the
fences and onto the backstop There is also reports of
vandalism and defacing of property. One suggestion
would be verbal warning and if continued suspension
from the park until a parent conference is held. Amy
would also like a chain of commands set up
V Old business-nothing new on Hancock Park
VI New business-The Rail to trail dedication
ceremony is this Saturday at 9.00a m Please try to
attend
