COMMITTEE MEETING
7:00 P.M. MONDAY JULY 13, 1999
CLERMONT,FL
MINUTES
Basha called the meeting to order. The sign in sheet was passed around and
initialed by all attending members Basha asked everyone to review the minutes
Jay Smith motioned approval of the minutes. Al Schlazer seconds the motion
Amy Lesner will update the committee on the summer program The summer
program is in the 4th week with a total of 150 children registered at this point, and
we are still signing children up. The response is very good and the councilors are
doing a great job. Michael Latimer asked Amy if there was enough in the budget
to cover the expenses Amy said that there was enough to pay the councilors
salaries and some of the expenses Also next year she would like to have some
field tnps for the summer programs, but she needs to find the transportation and
the funds. Amy is trying to get more funding for the recreation programs Basha
suggested that Amy look into the transportation from lake county school buses
Loretta suggested also that the Wee Center, First Christian, and the Methodist
Church in town has transportation buses. Jay made a motion to have extra
funding available to the summer program for transportation for field trips Tara
Shaver seconds the motion Motion passed.
Fees and charges Amy discussion on the fees, as of now the only fees the city
will be charging for is the$15 00 dollars an hour for the fields All other fees will
not be in effect Courts are on a first come basis
Old business. Tara Shaver asked if Jaymark has presented the master plan for
Lost Lake Park to the City Council yet No update was given
New business• Jeff Duke suggested putting together a subcommittee consisting of
members from the advisory committee to meet with Wayne Saunders to discuss
the next years budget for the Park& Recreation programs. We need to look for
more money from the city instead of trying to get it from usage fees Basha said
she would talk to Wayne Saunders about it Loretta Lynn said that the new
Budget will be in effect in October and that there is no meeting in August so we
needed to set it up now Tara Shaver asked Jeff Duke to make a motion Jeff
Duke made a motion to establish a subcommittee to take a look at the city
budgets for the park and recreation both capital and operational funds Al
seconds the motion Motion passed.
Basha suggested that Kirk Hall be appointed to the Park& recreation advisory
committee Basha said she would talk to Wayne Saunders about this
Next meeting will be on September 13th(not on Friday) Having no more
business Basha adjourned the meeting Meeting adjourned at 8.02 p m
