COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY PUBLIC HEARING
August 10, 1999
A Community Redevelopment Agency meeting of the City of Clermont was held
Tuesday, August 10, 1999 at Jenkins Auditorium at 691 Montrose Street and was called
to order at 6:30 p.m. with the following Members in attendance: Mayor Turville, Council
Member Biddle, Council Member Brown, Council Member Lamb, Council Member
Wolfe, and Elaine Hyatt Barton, Also present was City Manager Saunders, and Deputy
City Clerk Maddox.
Mainstreet Funding
�., Council Member Biddle stated that at the Budget Workshop the Mainstreet Board of
Directors had requested funding from the City Council. Mr. Biddle stated that at that
workshop the Council agreed that it was not feasible in this year's City budget, but
agreed that the CRA was in place to support the Mainstreet project. Mr. Biddle stated
that there is $15,000 in the CRA fund for this year and there will be $35,000 more next
year. Council Member Biddle requested that the CRA contribute $10,000 initially to the
Mainstreet project this year and $10,000 next year.
A motion was made by CRA Board Member Biddle,
seconded by CRA Board Member Brown, and
unanimously approved for the CRA to designate
$10,000 to the Mainstreet project this year.
Mayor Turville reminded the citizens present that the CRA is the Community
Redevelopment Agency for a designated area that includes the downtown.
City Manager Saunders stated that the Board should discuss the role that the CRA wants
to take as far as what the Staff should do and what the CRA should do as it relates to the
Mainstreet program and the Downtown Clermont Partnership. Mr. Saunders stated that
there should be a decision as to how active this Board would be in formulating decision
r-� that will be made over the next few months concerning the district.

After discussion the Board decided that it was not necessary to have meetings on a
monthly basis and that the CRA Board will continue to meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every
other month. The Board further decided that when projects such as "Streetscape"
come up, the CRA Board can have a special workshop to discuss and review final plans
of a project before any payment is made to the project by the CRA.
Workshop
The CRA Board scheduled a workshop to review the Streetscape plan at the August 17,
1999 workshop at 7:00, at Jenkins Auditorium.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
