AN ORDINANCE RE~UIRING ALL PRACTICIONERS
OF MEDICINE, AND OTHER BRANCHES OF THE
HEALING ART IN THE CITY OF CLERMONT TO
REPORT THE EXISTENCE OF ANY CONTAGIOUS
OR INFECTIOUS DISEASE TO THE CITY HEALTH
OFFICER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1. All practic~oners of medicine, and all
practicioners of any branch of the healing art, who are
called upon to treat or diagnose any case where the patient
is found to be suffering from any contagious or infectious
disease, shall, within twenty-four hours after the discovery
of the existence of such disease, report the same to the City
Health Officer; such report shall give the name of the per-
son or persons suffering from such disease, and the disease
with which such person or persons are suffering. Such
report may be made verbally, by telephone, or in writing.
SECTION 2. The City Health Officer shall investigate
all such reports and take such action as is provided by law.
SECTION 3. Any person violating the provisions of
this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished
by a fine of not more than Ten Dollars, or by imprisonment
for not more than ten days, or by both such fine and imprison-
ment, in the discretion of the Mayor.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be effective from and
after Pecember 31, 1939.
