Community Forum
MAY 21,2013—6:30pm
The forum was held in the Community Center and the following were present: Citizens of the
community, Mayor Turville, Council Members Van Wagner, Mullins, Goodgame and Bates. Staff
members present were: City Manager Gray, Deputy City Clerk Noak, Environmental Services Director
Kinzler, Planning and Zoning Director Hollerand, Assistant City Manager Blankenship, Fire Chief Bishop,
Police Chief Broadway, Finance Director Van Zile, Recreation Director Teske, Interim Human Resources
Director Aguirre, Economic Development Director Hitt, and IT Director Dennis. The facilitator was Rick
Corbin.
City Manager Gray welcomed the community, introduced the City Council and City staff, and invited the
public to sign up for email follow-up reports.
Rick Corbin explained the process and the attendees separated into groups of eight to ten individuals.
Forms were available for the attendees to note responses to the items listed and the table leaders
combined the results. Mr. Corbin invited the table leaders to share some of the ideas and Economic
Development Director Hitt noted the ideas presented. At the close of the session; audience members
who wished to participate, were provided cameras to take pictures of things they wanted more of, less
of, what they considered appealing, and what they considered unattractive. The deadline for camera
drop-off was set for May 31, 2013 and the locations for drop-off were provided; City Hall, the
Community Center,and all three fire stations.
The next Community Forum meeting was set for 6:30 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the
Community Center.
The forum ended at 9:00pm.
