ORDINANCE NO.~-7'
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A ZONE OR AREA
IN WHICH COIN OPERATED AMUSEMENT MACHINES
MAY BE OPERATED; PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE
ON COIN OPERATED AMUSEMENT MACHINE; PRO-
VIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO;
PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1: A Coin Operated Amusement Machine is any de-
vise in which one or more coins and/or slugs are installed in
order to operate the machine either mechanically or manually.
A "Pin-Ball" machine shall come under this definition.
A "Juke Organ" is any devise which reproduces
music from records or music rolls.
Zone or Area shall mean that zone or area as
defined in Ordinance No. 48 of the City of Clermont more commonly
known as the "Zoning Ordinance."
Operator of a Coin Operated Amusement Machine
shall. mean any person, firm or corporation owninß said machine
of any person, firm or corporation in whose place of bùsiness
a Coin Operated Amusement Machine is installed.
SECTION 2: A Coin Operated Amusement ~,Iachine shall not be
installed and/or operated in any place of busi~ess within the

No license shall be issued for any Coin Operated Amusement Ma-
chine by the
City of Clermont in any place of business in any

SECTION 3: All owners or operators of Coin Operated Amuse-
ment Machines shall pay to the City of Clermont a license of
$100.00 on each machine installed in any place of business in
the City of Clermont; said license shall be paid before the
machine is installed. The owner of any place of business in
which a Coin Operated Amusement Machine is, under this order,
permitted to be installed, is hereby required to see that said

license is obtained from the City of Clermont before the machine
is installed and his failure to do so shall be considered a
violation' of this ordinance and subject to the penalty herein-
after provided.
SECTION 4: At the time that a license is issued by the
City of Clermont on any Coin Operated Amusement 1~chine, the
City Clerk shall issue a gummed sticker to be stuck in full
view upon the face of the machine and such sticker shall bear
the serial number of the license machine, license, date of
issuance, and name of licensee.
In the event that any machine for which a
license has been issued becomes faulty in mechanical operation
or the licensee desires to remove said machine and to install
another in its place, said licensee shall notify the City Clerk
to that· effect and, without additional cost, the City Clerk
shall transfer the old license to the substituted machine and
shall furnish the ovmer or the operator with another gu~ned
sticker to be affixed to the machine as hereinabove outlined
and such sticker shall bear notation thereon that same has been
transferred and the date of said transfer. The installation
of a substitute as above outlined without first obtaining the
transfer of the license shall be considered as a violation of
the provision of Section 3 hereinabove.
SECTION 5: This ordinance shall not embrace "Juke Organs"
and/or Cigarette Vending Machines.
SECTION 6: Any person, firm or corporation violating any
of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction
thereof in the Mayor's Court, be punished by a fine not to
exceed $100.00 or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed
sixty (60) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment in the
discretion of the Mayor. Each day that a violation is per-
rnitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 7: This ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and upon its being signed by the President of

the City Council and upon its approval by the Mayor, and all
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and any
provision herein found invalid shall not affect the balance of
the provisions herein.
