AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING A TAX LEVY ON PROPERTY
IN THE CITY OF CLERMONT FOR THE YEAR 1943;
PROVIDING A BUDGET OF EXPENSES FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1943-1944 AND MAKING APPROPRIATIONS
THEREFOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1.
It is hereby found and determined by the
City Council of the City of Clermont, Lake County, Florida,
that the following sums of money are required for the operation
of the government of the City of Clermont for the Fiscal Year of
1943-1944:
For General Operating Expenses $ 2582.75

Capital Reserve $ 1291.38
SECTION 2.
It is further found and determined by the
City Council that the total of the Assessment Roll of the City
òf Clermont for 1943, as prepared by the City Tax Assessor and
as equalized, approved and confirmed by the City Council is
$1,278,354.00; that the following deductions from said Assessment
Roll must be made in order to arrive at the value of property
subject to taxation for Bond Debt Service:
(a) Widows Exemptions
(b) State Owned Lands
(c) Disability Exemptions
(d) Delinquent Properties

thereby leaving a total of $1,081,379.00 and each Mill thereon
will produce $1081.38 if such taxes are collected in full; that
..', the reasonable expectancy of the collection of taxes is 95% of
the total levy and based on said expectancy of collection, each

the Assessment Roll of $1,081,379.00 must be made in order to arrive
at the true valuation of property subjectoto taxation for General
Operating Expenses:

thereby leaving a total of $679,671.50, and that each Mill levied,
based on an expectancy of collection of 95% should produce $6~5.69.
SECTION 3.
It is hereby found and determined by the City
Council of the City of Clermont that to raise the above mentioned

follows:
For General Fund 4 Mi lls
For Interest & Sinking Fund,
and Reserve for Bonded Indebtedness 19 Mills
Capi tal Reserve 2 Mills
SECTION 4.
There is hereby levied and ~hall be collected
on each dollar of taxable property in the City of Clermont end
in the area excluded from the' City of Clermont by Chapter 21152,_,
Acts of the Legislature, t941, for Interest' and Sinking Fund,
and Rëserve for Bonded Indebtedness, a tax of 19 Mills for the
year of 1943 and on all property in the City of Clermont, save
and except, that property included in the arealas excluded from
the City of Clermont by Chapter 21152, Acts of the Legislature,
1941, )for General operati~g Expenses and Capital Reserve, a
tax of 6 Mills for the year of 1943, as follows, to wit:
For General Fund
4 Mills
For Interest & Sinking Fund,
and Reserve for Bonded Indebtedness
19 Mills
2 Mi lls
Capital Reserve
SECTION 5.
The Tax Assessor of the City or Clermont is
hereby directed to extend the Assessment Roll'of the City of
Clermont heretofore approved by the City Council in accordance
with the millage!~rovided in Section 4 of this ordinance and to

rected to collect the said taxes at the time and in the manner
provided by law ana the 'general ofdinances of the City of Clermont,
Florida.

SECTION 6.
The Monies raised by this tax levy are hereby
appropriated for the purposes for which levied; and no monies
raised for the Interest and Sinking Fund, and Reserve for Bonded
Indebtedness, shall be used for any other purpose than paying, first,
the interest on indebtedness of the City of Clermont falling due
during tþe calendar year of 1944, and, second, for the retirement
of the principal of such indebtedness in such manner as the Council
may hereafter determine.
SECTION 7.
This ordinance shall be effective immediately
upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
