12-11-2012 CRA Special Meeting City of Clermont Community Redevelopment Agency December 11,2012 The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) met on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Community Redevelopment Agency Chairman Turville called the meeting to order at 6:45pm with the following members present: Bob Bowman, Mary Jo Pfeiffer, Timothy Bates, Keith Mullins, Ray Goodgame and Rick Van Wagner. Other City officials present were: City Manager Gray and City Clerk Ackroyd. Approval of Minutes Community Redevelopment Agency meeting minutes of November 13, 2012 Community Redevelopment Agency Member Goodgame so moved to approve=the minutes; seconded by Community Redevelopment Agency Member Mullins. The motion passed with all members present voting aye. New Business Item No. 1 Approval of bid for Downtown Kiosks Tamara Richardson, City Engineer, presented the request. Last year, $20,000 was allocated in the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) budget to design and build several informational kiosks. The purpose of the kiosks is to direct visitors and residents to downtown shops and restaurants and to advertise downtown events. The kiosks would include a city map and calendar of downtown events with no advertising. A small committee met over the past year to move the project forward and proposed to install the kiosks at four (4) locations: Waterfront Park, 8th Street Pier area, Historic Village boat ramp and the Trailhead. The two (2) additional future locations are the Jenkins Auditorium site and the Clermont Community Center. The Inland Groves property was also considered for a kiosk. The project was put out to bid. Signs Now of Carrollwood submitted the low bid of$10,943. Staff recommended approval. Community Redevelopment Agency Member Mullins disclosed he served on the committee. Community Redevelopment Agency Member Pfeiffer questioned the maintenance. City Manager Gray stated the city's Public Works department would maintain the kiosks. Community Redevelopment Agency Chairman Turville opened the public hearing. There were no comments. Community Redevelopment Agency Chairman Turville closed the public hearing. Community Redevelopment Agency Member Goodgame moved to approve the 6 downtown kiosks; seconded by Community Redevelopment Agency Member Mullins.
