ORDINANCE NO. 40-C
AN ORDINANCE UNDER THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF SAID CODE OF ORDINANCES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CLERMONT, FLORIDA:
That Chapter 8 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clermont
shall be and hereby is amended as follows:
Section 1:
Chapter 8, Section 5 is hereby amended by deleting therefrom
subsectìon (b) and in its place substituting the following:
8-5 (c) Satisfactory proof that the applicant has passed the "Block"
examination shall be accepted by the City. Otherwise all applicants
must pass the City Board of Electrician Exam as set forth herein.
Section 2:
Chapter 8, Section 9 is hereby deleted.
Section 3:
Chapter 8, Section 16 is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following as êybsection(c):
8-16 (c) When making application for permits, Master Electricians must
designate on said application the total load in amperes and whether
single or 3-phase service is to be used.
Section 4:
Chapter 8, Section 20 is hereby deleted.
Section 5:
Chapter 8, Section 28 is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following as subsection (a):
8-28 (a) The power supply to the building shall not be connected until
a final inspection has been approved. No power shall be connected to the
building on a temporary basis.
Section 6:
Chapter 8, Section 35 is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following:
8-35 (g) Circuit breakers' panels must not be less than five (5) feet or
more than six (6) feet from the floor level to the top of the panel.
Section 7:
Chapter 8, Section 40, Subsection (g), item 8 shall be deleted and
in its place shall be substituted the following:
8. Grounds shall be connected to a 5/8" x 8' driven electrode and also
to the cold water pipe with an approved connector. Number four (4)
copper bonding wire shall be installed around the water meter with
approved bonding clamps.

Section 8:
Chapter 8, Section 40, subsection (g) item 49 is hereby deleted
and in its place shall be substituted the following:
49. The Contractor shall identify all branch circuits at the panel
showing the outlets so served ty typing or printing in ink the proper
identification before calling for final inspection.
Section 9:
Chapter 8, Section 4lA is hereby amended by adding thereto the
following as subsection (c):
8-4lA (c) Minimum wiring for 110 volt~ water heaters shall be 12/2 wire.
Minimum wiring for 200 volt water heaters shall be 10/2 wire.
Section 10:
If any article, section, clause or provision of this Ordinance
be deemed or held invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction for any
reason or cause, the same shall not affect or invalidate the whole of
this Ordinance, nor any part thereof, other than that particular
provision deemed or held invalid.
Section 11:
All Ordinances, or parts of Ordinances, in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
Section 12:
This Ordinance shall be posted by law and it shall become law
and shall take effect immediately upon its being posted as provided by
law.
