MINUTES
COUNCIL WORKSHOP
FEBRUARY 25, 2014
The Clermont City Council met in a workshop on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 in the Council Chambers at
City Hall Mayor Turville called the workshop to order at 6 05pm with the following Council Members
present Van Wagner, Mullins, Goodgame and Bates Other City officials present were City Manager
Gray, City Attorney Mantzaris,and Deputy City Clerk Noak
Celebration Center Update
City Manager Gray presented Council with an update Celebration of Praise Church will have use of the
building through the end of April The church is currently paying $10,000 per month in rent Staff is
working with ADG for the Police Department usage of approximately 10,000 square feet of the building
Bob McKee, Lake County Tax Collector, is still interested in leasing space and any agreement will be
come before Council for consideration A grand opening is planned for the first week in June and the
pool is scheduled to open in time for the end of the school year Repairs and maintenance of the
building are underway and rental rates will be presented to Council The church has inventory items the
City is inspecting for possible purchase if approved by Council Several activities have been scheduled,
Pat Burke will be renting part of the facility for three months, the May City Employee Breakfast will be
held at the facility, a Jazz Fest and a water safety day have been scheduled
The building will need to be officially named before the grand opening
Gail Ash asked how much money had been spent on the building, particularly the costs and estimates
related to the Police Department portion City Manager Gray will provide Ms Ash with the information
Historic Village Budget
City Manager Gray stated the City provides $10,000 in the budget to support the South Lake Historical
Society He introduced Donna DiGennaro, President of the South Lake Historical Society
Donna DiGennaro presented an overview of the Historical Society future projects and their anticipated
2014 budget Ms DiGennaro provided estimated hours employees and volunteers provided, number of
guests, group participants, special event participants, and rental fee income for 2013 She commented
they are working on developing a long range planning committee, membership drives, developing a
family membership rate, and working with the downtown merchants
