Honoring Emogene StegaCC
Whereas, Emogene Stegall is the State of Florida's longest serving Supervisor of
Elections; and
Whereas, Ms. Stegall served as Chief Deputy in the Elections Office from 1958
until 1972; and
Whereas, she was first elected as Lake County Supervisor of Elections in 1972
and recently re-elected to her 11th term of office; and
Whereas, Ms. Stegall; as a member of the Florida State Association of
Supervisors of Election, has served as President, Vice President, Historian, Annual
Conference Chair, served on various committees, and currently serves on the
Canvassing Board Committee; and
'Whereas, she has served as a member of the Business and Professional Women
of Eustis, the Pilot Club, League of Women Voters, and the Tavares Women's
Club; and
Whereas, Ms. Stegall was inducted into the Lake County Women's Hall of Fame
in 2005;
Now, Therefore, Be It Proclaimed that the City of Clermont expresses
its appreciation to Emogene Stegall for her more than fifty years of service and
contributions to the Lake County community.
