At a called meeting of the City Council of the City of
Clermont, held in the City Hall in Clermont, Lake County, Florida,
this ~ f day of May, 1955, the following Resolution was adopted:
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of
~~e Clermont that South Lake Memorial Hospital is now being enlarged for
making a considerable addition to the facilities and room available
for the care of the sick in South Lake County; and,
WHEREAS~ it is contemplated that the income from said hos-
pital will not be sufficient to maintain the operation of thefaci1i-
ties being provided without additional source of revenue outside of
and beyond the revenue to be obtained from operating the same; and,
WHEREAS~ it is the sense of this council that said hospital is
a vital and useful agency tor the care of the sick throughout the South
end of Lake County, and renders a safe and valuable service to the
people in this county.
IT IS THERE'tJPON RESOLVED that this City Council go on record

as t0A1..11'ó the levy upon all real property lying in Lake County south
of the line dividing Township 20 and Township 21, not to exceed one-
half mill the revenue thus derived to be paid over to South Lake
Memorial Hospital for the operational expenses of said hospital, and
for the payment ot any interest that may accrue upon indebtedness in-
curred by said hospital in providing the additional building and faci1i-

ties now under construction.

IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of the Resolution be sent
to the Honorable E. D. Baker~ State Senate, from Lake County, Florida,
the Honorable J. A. Boyd of the House of Representatives, and the Hon-
orable Carl E. Duncan of the House of Representatives, also from Lake
County, Florida, with request that they join in the passage of an Act
authorizing and directing the County Commissioner of Lake County to
levy the tax, not to exceed one-half mill on all property lying in
Lake County, south of the line dividing Township 21 from Township 20.
