WiiEREAS, the City of Clermont is almost equally divided by
its intersection of State Road "50", and
WI-IEREAS, the Citizens of the City of Clermont, as well as
the General Traveling Public, find it essential to both their
business and pleasure to cross said State Road "50" numerous
times during each twenty four hour period, and
WHEREAS, there is only one crossing of said State Road "50",
within the territorial limits of the City of Clermont, which
is controlled by a traffic signal installation, and
WHEREAS, it is both dangerous and time consuming to persons
crossing said State Road "50" at any intersection other than
that which is controlled by traffic signals,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Clermont that the State Road Department be respectfully requested
to make the required surveys, traffic counts and other studies
of aforementioned State Road "50", within the territorial limits
of the City of Clermont, in an effort to find some improvement
over the present pattern of both local and through traffic and
to lessen the existing danger at the various crossings now being
used on said State Road "50"
