R-68-118• • RESOLUTIONS N ~ 17 6 RESOLUTION NO. 118 v9HEREAS, the City of Clermont has experienced and is exuerience a gradual industrial and residentialgrowth, and ~~dIIEREA5, the City of Clermont annually offers its facilities to thousands of winter visitors and tourists, and LvI3EREAS, for many years Tamiami Trail Tours, Inc., operating as Tamiami Trailways, has rendered efficient r~lotor bus transportation generally along the west coast of Florida, including service between Tampa and r•iiami via U. S. Highway 41 and via St. Petersburg; and service throughout peninsular Florida, including service between Jacksonville and Tampa, and Jacksonville and t~liarni via Orlando, and WHEREAS, it has come to tae attention of the City Council of the City of Clermont that Tamiami Trailways has filed an application caith the Florida Public Service Commission and with the Interstate Commerce Commission for authority to transport passengers, baggage, express and newspapers over various routes that will connect the lower west coast of Florida with the Orlando area; that will provide direct service between the lower west coast of Florida, Ocala, 4r'inter haven area, Clermont, Cape Kennedy, and Daytona F3each, and WHEREAS, it is necessary and essential that said applications be granted in order that public convenience and necessity be }pest served so that industry, residents and visitors to this populous area may enjoy efficient passenger service between the area described above without inter- change over the routes of Tamiami Trailways. NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida in regular meeting assembled on this Stn day of January, 1968, that this City Council formally approves the applications of Tamiami Trailways for the extension of its common carrier bus service between the cities involved in the application now pending in Docket No. 9113-CCB before the Florida Public Service Commission, and that this City Council respectfully requests the r^lorida Public Service Commission and the Interstate Commerce Commission to grant said applications. • • RESOLUTIONS N ~ 17 7 PASSES A~7D DULY ADOPTED at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, on the 9th day of January, 1968. ,. i ~' .°la.' r f the Cit of Clermont, Florida ATTEST: STATE OF FLORIDA ) COUCITY OF LAKE ) I, A. .I.
