02-26-2019 City of Clermont Community Redevelopment Agency February 26,2019 The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) met on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Community Redevelopment Agency Chair Gail Ash called the meeting to order at 6:00pm with the following members present: Patrick Bianchi, Roman Brana, Tim Bates, Diane Travis, Ray Goodgame and Heidi Brishke. Other City officials present were: City Manager Gray, City Attorney Mantzaris,and City Clerk Howe. Item No. 1 —CRA Update City Manager Gray introduced Economic Development Director Schmidt to provide an update on the Community Redevelopment Agency. Economic Development Director Schmidt stated the Community Redevelopment Agency terms out in 2027. A current bill being proposed would not allow the Community Redevelopment Agency to spend money to develop tourism. If passed, the Community Redevelopment Agency's budget would first be approved by Lake County Board of County Commissioners and then return to the City's Community Redevelopment Agency and the City Council for final approval. An update on the activities of the Community Redevelopment Agency was provided with new businesses within the City,the completion of Victory Pointe project,the Trail Town Designation,parking,grants,new additions, and events covered in the update. City Manager Gray stated staff would keep the Council updated on the bill's progress. The push at the Florida League of Cities is to keep Home Rule however, the State wants more control over the cities. 1 City of Clermont Community Redevelopment Agency February 26,2019 Adjourn: With no further business,the meeting adjourned 6:14pm.
