RESOLUTIONS
RESOLUTION NO. 328
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CLERMONT, ENDORSING THE ANTI-INFLATION
MEASURES ADOPTED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE
UNITED STATES.
WHEREAS, local governments have been unable to keep pace with the inflationary
spiral and have been required to either reduce programs offered to their citizens or
find alternate measures to combat the rising costs of operations; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont has a large permanent population of retirees who
are living on a fixed income who have been unable to maintain their standard of living
due to the constant rise of basic living costs, food prices, and medical care; and,
WHEREAS, in order to reduce inflation, this city must use its best efforts in
maintaining the current prices and to provide in its operation that it will not exceed
the President's recommended guidelines to combat inflation; and,
WHEREAS, in order to protect the purchasing power of our citizen's dollars and to
insure the United States of America's continued economic leadership position in the
world market place, it is mandatory that local governments, as well as state and the
federal government hold the line on expenditures,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT:
SECTION 1.
That the Council hereby endorses and will abide by the anti-inflation measures
recommended by the President of the United States of America and hereby urges each
local government unit to adhere to said program.
SECTION 2.
That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the Lake County
League of Cities for the advice and consideration of the member cities.
This resolution duly adopted by the City Council of the City of Clermont, Florida, at
a meeting held on Tuesday, April 24, 1979.
