RESOLUTIONS
No. 603
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE
COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR
GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
DIVISION OF RECREATION AND PARKS LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION
FUND PROGRAM FOR THE ACQUISITION OF AN OUTDOOR RECREATION SITE,
PROVIDING FOR PROJECT NAME, FUNDS REQUESTED, PROJECT COSTS,
SOURCE OF MATCHING FUNDS, LIAISON AGENT AND CERTIFICATIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Clermont, Florida, is eligible to
participate in the Florida Recreational Development Assistance
Program and the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Program
in Florida, and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of submitting an application
for funding under this program, and
WHEREAS, it is a requirement of the application that this
Resolution be adopted and become an official part of the appli-
cation, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CLERMONT, LAKE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the City Manager is authorized to submit an application
for funding under the Florida Department of Natural Resources
Division of Recreation and Parks Land and Water Conservation Fund
Program for the acquisition of an outdoor recreation site with
the project name being Twelfth Street Park.
SECTION 2.
That the City Manager or his designee is hereby designated as
the official liaison agent and is authorized to execute all approp-
riate documents and contracts for the purpose of administering the
grant for the City.
SECTION 3.
That the City of Clermont is hereby requesting funds totalling
$48,000 from the Florida Department of Natural Resources Division
of Recreation and Parks Land and Water Conservation Fund Program.
SECTION 4.
That the required matching funds totalling $48,000 are available
in the form of cash from the City of Clermont and will remain avail-
able until needed.
SECTION 5.
That the total acquisition cost of the project is $96,000.
SECTION 6.
That the City of Clermont is in a fiscally and legally respon-
sible position to acquire, develop, operate and maintain the project
site in accordance with program requirements.

SECTION 7.
That the City of Clermont has adopted a local Comprehensive
Plan with a Recreation and Open Space Element pursuant to the
Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act of 1975, and all
segments of the population were offered the opportunity to par-
ticipate in the planning process leading to its adoption, and
SECTION 8.
That the City of Clermont has an on-going program of public
participation which encourages involvement by all segments of the
population within the City, including minority and disadvantaged
citizens, in the planning for the selection and development of
recreation projects.
SECTION 9.
That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately after its passage and approval in the manner provided
by law.
