02-06-1917 Regular Meeting 22-. .Clermont, Florida, February 6th 1917 Regular meeting of Clermont Council called to order by President Brantley Roll call all members present Clerk reported dog license tags not received. Clerk continued on committee. Mr. Johnson moved that he be continued on committee for printing ordinances. Carried. Mr. Goodenough reported lumber to repair old jail not yet received. Committee on speed limit poles instruc- ted to place at city limits at three main entrances to town. Resignation of Max Hooks as collector read and accepted. H F Bailey appointed collector Moved that Marshall call on Mr. Futch and collect rent on old school building. Carried. Moved by Mr. Johnson that Town Treasurer be bonded for $1,000.00. Carried. Moved by Mr. Goodenough that Assessor and collector give bond for $500.00 each. Carried. Moved that corrections be made in all three copies of Charter, Section 18 to read who were elected instead of who shall be elected, and Section fifty to read for not less than par instead of for not less than 5% of face value. Carried. Moved by Mr. Johnson that the Mayor and each of the five Councilmen sign note for one hundred dollars at right for interest payable on or before one year. carried. Carried 23 Moved by Mr. Hooks that Mr. L H Jensens petitions for electric light franchise be laid on the table and council to get views of citizens in regard to franchise. Carried. Moved tht petition be circulated to decide whether franchises be granted to private parties or electric lights be owned by city. Carried. Mr. Johnson appointed to write and circulate petitions in regard to franchise. Mr. Goodenough appointed to secure information in regard to water works. Moved to adjourn. Carried S S Fisher, Clerk
