Clermont, Florida March 14, 1917
Special meeting of Clermont Council called.
Mayor Roe to consider approval of
the Lake Highlands Co to make some changes in
streets in vicinity of their club house
Another part of the meeting to establish a
property line for Mr. Pemberton. Also to take up
unsanitary conditions of old AAL Depot.
Meeting called to order by President
Brantley. In absence of Clerk S S Fisher, L S
Altmeyer was appointed to act in his stead.
Mr. Bowman of Lake Highlands Co
presented a plan and petition with a request
to have the South end of East Avenue between
Minnehaha Ave and Lake Drive changed from
100 feet to 50 feet wide on east side, closing the
west side of East Avenue within that block.
Mr. Bowman also presented a proposal to
open up a new street between Minnehaha Avenue
and Lake Drive, 134 feet west of the new west
line of East Avenue (184 feet west of the east line of
East Avenue). Provided the above petition was
granted, that this proposed new street will
give a better grade and will also be clayed.
This new street to be sixty feet wide and to be
named or designated as First Street.
Motion by Mr. Goodenough tht Mr.
Bowman present his proposal in writing and
tht it and the petition from the property owners
be filed with Clerk and that Council take action
at next regular meeting. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Wilson tht Mt. Settle
survey the line for Mrt. Pemberton and establish
his property line. Carried.
Motion that chariman be appointed to have
Mr. Settle establish the line for Mr. Pemberton. Carried.
Moved by Mr. Goodenough tht the Mayor
instruct the Marshall to notify the tenants in the
old A A L Depot to clean up and discontinue
the nuisance. Carried.
Mr. Wickline requests to rent the old school house
building for residence purposes for a man in his employ
guarenteeing the rent as long as the man is in his
employ. Committee on Parks to agree to rent the
building to Mr. Wickline for $8.50 per month payable in
advance. Moved to adjourn. Carried.
