05-05-1917 Regular Meeting .28 Clermont, Florida May 5th 1917 Regular meeting of Clermont Council called to order by President Brantley. Roll call members present. Minutes of meeting of April 3rd read and approved. Report of Committees. Finance - total collected for license and fines $172.39. Warrants paid $37.49. balance on hand $133.23. Report accepted. Report of Street committee. Grading 7th Street $13.90, grading and hauling clay on West Avenue $73.25, scraping roads $1.90. Books of Treasurer Altmeyer found correct. report accepted. Sanitation committee reported work on restaurant completed,report accepted. Charity and schools - no report. Rules and ordinances report - speed limit signs hung at roads leading into town. Report of Treasurer - total collected $170.72, disbursements $37.49, on hand $133.23. Report accepted. Moved that all bills presented at this meeting be paid. Carried. Collector reports licence sold. Total collected $25.58. Report accepted. Unfinished business: Moved that Treasurer Altmeyers bond be accepted and premium be paid. Moved by Mr. Goodenough that office of Marshall be declared vacant and Mr. Hull to turn over all paraphanalia to Mayor Roe and Mayor to appoint another Marshall at once. Carried. Moved that Clerk write Representative Edge and thank him for his efforts in behalf of the town for securing charter. Carried. Moved by Mr. Johnson that President Brantley appoint committee to confer with Mr. Hunter in regard to the proposed franchise asked for by Mr. Jensen and set date that he can meeti Council and have special meeting for that date. Carried. Moved by Mr. Johnson that Council borrow $100.00 from First State bank, all councilmen and Mayor to sign note. Carried. Moved to adjourn. Carried. S S Fisher, Clerk.
