05-07-1918 Regular Meeting Clermont, Fla May 7, 1918 Regular meeting of Clermont Council called to order by Pres. Brantley. All members present except Mr. Morrison. Mionutes of meeting of April 2nd read and approved. Report of Committees. Finance, no report. Street Committee, Reports all trees trimmed as ordered. Sanitation, Mr Goodenough reports on Sanitary Ordinance. Charity and Schools, No report. Special Committee, Mr Brantley reports on Park. Moved that the council as a body go and inspect land for the Park. May 25th set for day of inspection. Committee from Board of Trade asked permission to erect flag pole in center of square at intersection of Montrose and 8th street. Carried. Moved that bill for booklets be paid and charged to publicity fund. Carried. Collector reports taxes collected to the amount of One Hundred and forty one dollars. Report accepted. Treasurer on hand $609.01. Paid out $188.71. Received $141.00. Balance on hand $611.84. Clerk read letter from Chief Engineer of Jax regarding sanitary ordinance. Bids opened for claying 4th St. from Montrose to Osceola St. Work awarded to W J Gaines. Request of R P Searer to build cement building on Montrose St. Granted. Moved that all bills presented at this meeting be paid. Carried. Moved that the collector br authorized to advertise the tax delinquents through the proper channels as required by law and the cost for so doing be added. Mayor Roe reports on old school house property. Moved that town pay cost of abstract for old school house property. Carried. Moved that Marshall Fries salary be $20.00 per month. Carried.
