Regular meeting of Clermont Council called to order by
President Brantley.
Roll call. All present.
Reading of Minutes of meeting of Dec 3rd 1918. Minutes
approved.
Report of Committees. Finance, no report. Streets and
Sanitation, Mr Goodenough reports being unable to secure
help to work streets and that bench on corner of Montrose
and 8th St has been repaired.
Charity and Schools, no report.
Collector reports, Licenses collected $30.00. Clay road
$5.00 from T & G Taxes $88.05. Total $123.05 same turned
over to Treas. Report accepted.
Clerk reports licenses collected $104.05. Report accepted.
Moved that Mr Jiness bill be paid and he be instructed to
make itemized bill in future. Carried.
Mr Roe reports on securing cupboard for booklets.
Moved that Mr Frees bill for balance of salary be laid on the
table. Carried.
Report of Treas on hand $381.42. Received $132.05. Paid
out $21.20. Bal on Hand $492.27. Report accepted.
Mayor Roe administered oath of office to Mayor elect Kern
and to Councilmen Wilson and Goodenough, Clerk Fisler,
Treas Winston and Collector Bailey.
Mr Brantley elected President of Council.
Committee from Board of Trade in regard to claying 2nd St
heard by Council.
Moved that 2nd St be clayed from Osceola St north to two
hundred feet north of the south line of school house (******)
Carried.
Moved that petition of H F Bailey and other to clay DeSoto St
be laid on the table. Carried.
Moved that the Council accept Mr Goodenough’s room on
corner of 7th and Montrose Sts for Council room. Carried
President Brantley appointed same members on Committees
as last year.
Moved that Town pay Mr Hunter $25.00 for services as
council for the Town of Clermont. Carried.
Moved that Mr Hunter be elected Attorney for the Town of
Clermont. Carried.
Moved that Mr Settle be elected Town Surveyor. Carried.
Moved to adjourn. Carried.
