06-03-1919 Regular Meeting Clermont, Fla June 3 – 1919 Regular meeting of Clermont Council called to order by President Brantley. Roll call all present except Mr Johnson. Minutes of meeting of May 6th read and approved. Minutes of Feb 4th read and approved. Finance Com no report. Street Com reports rains injuring roads badly. Charity and Schools no report. Rules and Ordinance. Mr Goodenough presented ordinance amending No. 8, Sec 3. Moved by Mr Goodenough that rules be suspended and ordinance be passed to second reading. Carried unanimously. Moved that ordinance to amend ordinance No 8, Sec 3 be passed as read. Carried. An ordinance to amend Sec 3 of Ordinance No. 8 of the Ordinances of the Town of Clermont, Lake Co., Florida entitled, An Ordinance to Prohibit stock from running at large in said town. Be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of Clermont, Lake Co, Florida that Sec 3 of ordinance No 8 of the ordinances of the Town of Clermont, Lake Co Florida be amended to read as follows. Sec 3. Be it further ordained that the charges for impounding, feeding and selling such stock shall be as follows. For impounding such animals, per head one dollar ($1.00). Horse s or mules, per head, twenty five ($.25) for each find, cattle or swine per head each fine twenty five cents ($.25). Preparing and posting notices of sale seventy five cents ($.75) per head. . Making sale for each head of stock twenty five cents (.25). Said fees shall be paid to Town Marshall as his compensation fee and costs therefor. Passed in open Council this 3rd day of June 1919. Carried. Collector reports taxes collected 472.93. Licenses $6.50. Total $79.43. Report Accepted. Treas reports on hand $1,381.82. Rec’d $79.43. Paid Out $125.26. On hand $1,341.99. Report accepted. Road Committee reports Streets in bad order in some places. Sanitary Com reports that State Health officers has inspected sanitary conditions. Collector reports collecting taxes and costs $15.70. On claying street $16.16. Report accepted. Treas reports on hand $1,841.99. Paid out $20.00. Balance on hand $1,321.99. Report accepted. Clerk read bill presented, On motion of Mr Wilson all bills ordered paid and the Clermont Electric Co. ordered to discontinue light at corner of Osceola and 4th St until further notice. Carried. Mr Kimmel (sp?) spoke to Council in regard to cattle running at large. Mr Mullins ask for better road to the Club House. Moved that C C Lee be appointed Marshal to fill unexpired term of W B Driggers. Carried. Mr Johnson and Mr Goodenough appointed committee to confer with Mr Jensen in regard to increasing electric light power. Moved that Mr Altmyer be appointed Chief Fire Warden. Carried.
