Minutes of meeting of January 4th and Special meeting of January 11th read and approved. Report of Committees. Park Committee reports on work done in Kehlor Park. Treas reports on $946.91. Received $122.48. Paid out $220.00. Balance on hand $849.39. Report accepted. Collector reports taxes collected for 1920. $99.30. Report accepted. Clerk reports on delinquent licenses. Report accepted. Moved by Mr Sharp that the rules be suspended and ordinance prepared by Atty Hunter to prohibit gambling be passed to second reading. Carried. Moved by Mr Sharp that the above named ordinance be passed. Carried. Moved that a street light be placed at the corner of Minneola Ave and 4th St. Carried. Moved by Mr McNiece that the office of Town Marshal be declared vacant. Carried. Moved to adjourn. Carried. S S Fisler. Ord 35. An ordinance to prohibit gambling in the Town of Clermont, Florida. The following ordinance was introduced by Councilman Sharp and passed by the Council. Be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of Clermont, Lake Co, Florida, that whoever plays or engages in any game of cards, keno, roulette (*******) or other game of chance at any place within the Town limits of Clermont, Fla by any device whatever for money or other thing of value, shall be punished by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days or by fine not exceeding $100.00. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval by the Mayor. Passed in open Council this 1st day of February 1921. H L Johnson, Pres.
