SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was
held in the office of the City Clerk on Monday, November 30, 1970.
The Fleeting was called to order at 5:10 P. M. by Mayor Pro-Tem
Sam P. Bratton with the following members present: Councilmen
VanderMeer, Oswalt and Cochran. Other officials present were:
City Clerk Carroll and Chief of Police Tyndal.
Mayor Pro-Tem Bratton stated that the purpose of the meeting was
to inspect the Registration Rolls and prepare the Ballot Box for
the General Election of the City of Clermont being held on Tuesday,
December 1, 1970.
(•lotion was made by Councilman VanderMeer, seconded by Councilman
Cochran and carried that the Registration Rolls were in order
and the Ballot Box properly prepared; that the Ballot Box be locked
and the keys to the box and the Registration Rolls turned over to
Police Chief Tyndal for delivery to the Clerk of Election on the
morning of the General Election.
It was consensus of Council that inasmuch as a single polling place
is used for City Elections, that being located in the Municipal
Court Room at the Police Station, that the Clerk be instructed to
place a notice of this at the South Lake Presbyterian Church Youth
Building which is used as a second polling place during County,
State and National Elections.
Mayor Pro-Tem Bratton advised that a Special Meeting of the City
Council is called for Tuesday, December 1, 1970 at 8:00 P. M. in
the Kiwanis Room of Jenkins Auditorium to canvass the ballot
of the General Electi:-n of the City of Clermont to be held on
Tuesday, December 1, 1970 from 7:00 A. M. to 7:00 P. M.
The Meeting was adjourned by Mayor Pro-Tem Bratton.
