12-28-1970 Supporting DocumentsMINUTES N4 707 SPECIAL MEETING A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held in the office of the City Manager on Monday, December 28, 1970. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Don E. Smith at 4:50 P. 14. with the following members present: Councilmen Oswalt, Cochran and VanderMeer. City Manager Hopkins, City Clerk Carroll and City Attorney Langley were also present. Representatives of the local Press were also present. Mayor Smith announced the purpose of the meeting was to consider a Resolution regarding the acceptance of bids on construction of a sanitary sewer system, and, introduction of a bonding ordinance providing for same. Councilman Oswalt introduced and moved the adoption of a RESOLUTION accepting bids on the construction of a sanitary sewer system as follbws: To Bumby & Stimpson, Inc. for the construction of the gravity system in the amount of $1,520,175.55; To Bumby & Stimpson, Inc. for the construction of the lift stations and force mains in the amount of $406,330.00; To Chilton Construction Co., Inc. for the construction of the treatment and disposal facilities in the amount of $526,911.00, all bids subject to approval by the Housing and Urban Development authority. The RESOLUTION was read in full by Councilman Oswalt. The motion for adoption was seconded by Councilman VanderMeer and unanimously carried, the Number 172 assigned to it, and a copy ordered posted. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SEWER SYSTEI4 FOR THE CITY OF CLERMONT, FLORIDA: PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF NOT EXCEEDING $1,700,000.00 WATER AND SEWER REVENUE BONDS OF SUCH CITY TO PAY THE COST OF SUCH PROJECT: PROVIDING FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE HOLDERS OF SUCH BONDS: PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF: AND MAKING CERTAIN OTHER COVENANTS AND AGREEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH BONDS was introduced by Councilman Oswalt and read in full for a first reading.
