WORKSHOP MEETING
June 15, 1993
A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Tuesday,
June 15, 1993 in the City Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by
Mayor Pool at 7:00 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Council
Member Norquist, Council Member Turville, and Council Member Ivey. Also
present were City Manager Saunders, Finance Director Van Zile, and representing
Capitol Motor Sports were Cecilia Bonifay, Chuck Aldren, and John Scott.
Proposed Raceplex
Mayor Pool stated that~Capitol Motor Sports representatives were present to give the
City and the public an update on the proposed Raceplex to be located south of
Clermont. The consultants presented a promotional video regarding the proposed
Raceplex and Cecilia Bonifay presented an overview of the project.
Mr. Aldrin and Mr. Scott then made presentations and accepted questions from the
Council and the public. Mayor Pool asked those present for an indication of support
or opposition to the complex and a large majority of those present raised their hands
in support of the project.
The consultants left the meeting at approximately 8:20 p.m.
Bond Refinancing
City Manager Saunders presented the Council with information regarding the
refinancing of existing bond issues. Finance Director Van Zile presented the various
options for financing and for payment schedules and it was the consensus that Option
1 as presented would be in the best interest of the City.
Finance Director Van Zile presented the Council with written information regarding
the various options.
Recycle Center Move to Old City Garage
City Manager Saunders then informed the Council that we would like to move the
recycling operation to the old City garage property. It would be convenient to have

the can crusher and recycle material storage in this area. There was no opposition to
this move.
Cooley Property Purchase (Portion)
City Manager Saunders discussed the possible purchase of a portion of the Cooley
property adjacent to the 4th Street Well. Council directed City Manager Saunders to
look into it further and bring information back at a later date.
Employee Recognition Party
The employee recognition party for this year was discussed and a date was set for the
second Saturday in September.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
