HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-05-1994 Public Workshop CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES PUBLIC WORKSHOP MEETING May 5, 1994 A Public Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Thursday, May 5, 1994 at the Highlander Hut, 102 3rd Street. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pool at 7:00 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Norquist, Council Member Ivey, Council Member Cole and Council Member Turville. Also present was City Manager Saunders and Michael & Michael Associates: Forest and Deborah Michael and Rhodora Bohall. Lake Minneola Waterfront Park City Manager Saunders opened the meeting and welcomed the citizens attending. He stated the meeting was for public input regarding the proposed improvements to the Lake Minneola waterfront. He stated that the meeting was the initial public meeting and that the firm of Michael & Michael has been hired by the City to prepare conceptual plans for the area. City Manager Saunders introduced Forest Michael and his associates. Mr. Michael then presented the overall concept of the beachfront utilizing several displays and then opened the floor for questions and discussion. Several people in attendance spoke regarding the proposed improvements. Mayor Pool then addressed the group and stated that one of his main concerns was the proposed elimination of the Lake Minneola Drive. He asked for a show of hands of those that would prefer the road to remain and no one raised their hand. He then asked for those who would prefer that the road be removed and the majority of those present raised their hands. Mayor Pool thanked everyone for attending and explained that they would continue working on the concept and have future public meetings. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. Attest: Robert A.
