04-05-1994 Workshop Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES WORKSHOP MEETING April 5, 1994 A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Tuesday, April 5, 1994 in the City Hall meeting room. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pool at 7:30 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Norquist, and Council Member Ivey. Also present was City Manager Saunders and Forest Michael of Michael & Michael, Lake Minneola Waterfront Park Mayor Pool discussed comments that he had received regarding the Lake Minneola Waterfront Park. City Manager Saunders presented to the Council the proposed scope of services presented by Forest Michael. Mr. Michael reviewed the proposal in detail with the Council. City Manager Saunders stated that Mr. Michael and he had met earlier in the day and the $29,000 figure had been reduced to $26,500. Mr. Michael also volunteered to delete the 1055 handling cost for outside services that might be required. City Manager Saunders requested that Mr. Michael present the Council with an estimate of the reimbursable expenses referred to and he stated that he would. City Manager Saunders informed the Council that this would be on the April 12 agenda for approval. Possible Additional Property for Lake Minneola Waterfront Park Mayor Pool suggested that we talk with property owners located between West Beach and the old City garage property regarding the possibility of the CitY purchasing this property to expand the waterfront project. City Manager Saunders stated he would contact these owners to see if there was any interest. Rails to Trails Alignment through Carter Property City Manager Saunders discussed with the Council the Rails to Trails alignment through the Carter property and explained that the Carter family had concerns regarding the trail. He suggested that a workshop be set up between the Carters and the City Council to discuss these concerns. CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES WORKSHOP MEETING April 5, 1994 Page 2 EDB Contaminated Wells City Manager Saunders discussed the provision of water to the EDB contaminated wells in the Johns Lake Road/Hancock Road area. It was the consensus that we should initially serve this area through the'bulk agreement with Bob Mandell and Lake Utilities, but that we should proceed as soon as possible with establishing a City well on the Clermont Hills site. Water Craft Program City Manager Saunders discussed with the Council a request by Tom Coleman for a water craft program that would be presented as a part of our Summer Recreation Program. He presented the Council with Mr. Coleman's additional services he proposed to provide and it was decided that a workshop be set up with Mr. Coleman to review his proposal.
