Also present was City Manager Saunders, Tom Rappe and Max Brito of Strollo Architects, and Forest Michael of Michael & Michael. Lake Minneola Waterfront Park City Manager Saunders explained that the Strollo Architect representatives would like to present the Council with some conceptual drawings for the new beach house and pavilion area. He explained that Strollo is also on the project team for the Rails to Trails project funded by the ISTEA grant and that they would also like to discuss the design for the trail head. Mr. Rappe and Mr. Brito then presented the Council with several sketches of the facilities and received the comments from the Council. They explained that they would work further with the sketches, keeping in mind the comments that the City Council members had and present updated plans in the near future. Mr. Rappe and Mr. Brito left the meeting at approximately 8:00 p.m. Mr. Forest Michael then conducted the discussion of the waterfront park, specifically talking about the proposed lighting. He presented several examples to the Council and received their comments. He stated that he would select several lighting alternatives and present them to the Council for their choice in the near future. Mr. Michael left the meeting at approximately 8:15 p.m. Mr. Richard Bell and Mr. Cai Hettinger entered the meeting and City Manager Saunders explained that he had asked them to be there to discuss the proposed agreement with Bell Ceramics regarding the swap of property at the intersection of East Avenue/Grand Highway and Palm Lane which is now under design. He presented each Council Member with a sketch of the properties that would be southwest between the City and Bells Ceramics. CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING OCTOBER 3, 1995 Page 2 Also discussed were the other concessions that the Council had previously talked about regarding the road closing of Lake Minneola Drive which eliminates Bell's direct access. It has been proposed that a new two-way driveway be constructed from East Avenue to the lime rock parking lot and that a 10' one-lane driveway be constructed from the showroom parking area on 2nd Street along the north side of the building and terminating at the east end of their building. Mr. Hettinger displayed a proposed layout for these driveways. Mr. Bell then discussed a potential problem with the storage building that is located on the north side of Lake Minneola Drive. He was concerned that after these improvements were made that the large trucks that deliver to this building would not be able to access this building. After discussion, it was the consensus that a new storage building would be constructed by the City either as a stand-alone building or an addition to Bell Ceramics existing building that would be of the same square footage as the existing storage building and that the City in return would take possession of the existing storage building and property. City Manager Saunders explained that we would provide new sketches showing the driveways as discussed and a revised agreement that would cover all of the areas discussed during the meeting. Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m. Robert A. Pool, Mayor Attest: Jos~h E. Va(r'Zile, City Clerk
