MINUTES
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
AUGUST 4, 1995
A Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Friday,
August 4, 1995 in the City Hall conference room. The meeting was called to order at
3:00 p.m. by Mayor Pool with the following Council Members present: Council
Member Dupee, and Council Member Cole. Other City officials present were
Finance Director Van Zile, Deputy City Clerk Whitlock, and Planning Director
Harker.
NEW BUSINESS
Introduction of Ordinance 287-M
Mayor Pool stated that Ordinance 287-M was for introduction and he read the
ordinance by title only. He stated the hearing date is scheduled for August 22, 1995
and it will rezone Lots 1, 2, and 3 of Block 96 from R-3 to CDB to allow a Bed and
Breakfast.

A motion was made by Council Member Cole and seconded by Council
Member Dupee to introduce Ordinance 287-M.
Introduction of Ordinance 283-C
Mayor Pool stated that Ordinance 283-C was for introduction and he'read the
ordinance by title only. He stated the heating date is scheduled for August 22, 1995
and it will establish a new.rate structure and make other amendments for Occupational
Licenses.

A motion was made by Council Member Cole, seconded by Council
Member Dupee to introduce Ordinance 283-C.
Hearing Date
Mayor Pool stated the proposed heating date for the first heating of the 1995-96
Clermont Budget is Thursday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers in
the Police Department. The proposed date was approved by the Council Members.

Bid Award - Hancock Well completion
Finance Director Van Zile stated that bids for the Hancock Well completion were
received at 2:00 p.m. as follows:
Meredith Environmental
Allens Well Drilling
M.C. of Florida
$130,246
$136,442
$143,900
Finance Director Van Zile recommended accepting the low bid of $130,246 from
Meredith Environmental. City Engineer Springstead reported that Meredith
Environmental is a competent and capable firm.

A motion was made by Council Member Dupee. seconded by Council
Member Cole, and carried unanimously to approve the low bid of
$130,246 from Meredith Environmental.
PENSION BOARD MEETING
Finance Director Van Zile stated that the Quarterly Pension Board Meeting which had
been scheduled for August 8, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. will be rescheduled to August 22,
1995 at 7:00 p.m.
STORM DAMAGE
Mayor Pool reported that storm damage from Hurricane Erin on August 2 was minor.
City crews were busy keeping lift stations running and removing the trees that were
blown down.
