09-24-1998 Special Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 24, 1998 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Thursday, September 24, 1998 at the Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Pool with the following Council Members present: Mayor Pro Tem Norquist, Council Member Wolfe and Council Member Brown. Other City officials present were City Manager Saunders. Mayor Pool stated that it was his desire to have a smooth transition between his departure and a replacement for the remainder of his term. Administrative Procedures for Evaluation of Professional Services City Manager Saunders Stated there were a couple of items that should be addresses prior to Mayor Pool's resignation. He presented Council Members with a memo dated September 24 outlining the administrative procedures for the evaluation of professional services. He requested that Council approve the recommended procedures. 98-310 A motion was made by Council Member Wolfe, seconded bY Council Member Brown and carried unanimously to approve the administrative procedures for the evaluation o_f professional services as outlined in Ci~_ Manager Saunders ' memorandum dated September 24, 1998. McKinney Park Irrigation City Manager Saunders explained that he would like to move ahead with the irrigation planning for McKinney Park. Three quotes were received as follows: Century Rain Aid $275; M & C Pipe $500, and Messick Irrigation $600. 98-311 A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Norquist, seconded by Council Member Brown, and carried unanimousl_¥ to approve Century Rain AM for the irrigation plan of McKinney Park in the amount of $2 75. CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 24, 1998 Page 2 Resignation of Mayor Pool and Appointment Mayor Pro Tem and Council Member Mayor Pool then asked if there were any other issues to address and there were none. At this time Mayor Pool signed a letter of immediate resignation and presented it to each Council Member. Mayor Pro Tem Norquist assumed control of the meeting and stated that someone should be appointed to fill the vacant seat created by Mayor Pool's resignation. Council Member Wolfe stated that according to the order in the Charter that the Council should first appoint a new Mayor Pro Tem. 98-312 A motion was made by Council Member Wolfe, seconded my Council Member Brown and carried two to one with Mayor Pro Tern Norquist voting nay to appoint Council Member Brown as Mayor Pro Tern. Mayor Pro Tem Norquist then stated that the Council should now fill the vacant seat. 98-313 ,4 motion was made bY Council Member Wolfe, seconded by Council Member Brown and carried unanimously to appoint Hal Turville as a Council Member to fill the seat vacated by Mr. Pool.
