COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING
September 19, 1998
A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held September
19, 1998 at the Police Department The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tern
Norquist at 6:00 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Council
Member Cole, Council Member Wolfe. Also present was City Manager Saunders,
Principal Planner Brown, and Finance Director Van Zile.
Our House Development Center
City Manager Saunders introduced Cindy Winkle with Our House Development
Center. She explained they are proposing to construct a day care center and questioned
the possibility ora reduction in the City's impact fees. She referred to a County
ordinance that provided relief of impact fees. After discussion, there seemed to be
little support and Mrs. Winkle thanked the Council for their attention.
Montrose Street Holiday Tree Lighting
Beverly Anderson addressed the council concerning lighting of the street trees on
Montrose Street. Ci~ Manager Saunders explained that he had talked with Public
Service Director Davis and the only feasible way of lighting the trees this year would
be if the area businesses would allow the trees to be connected to their buildings for
power. Mrs. Anderson stated she would work on that.
Bosserman Property Proposed Variances
Mr. Charlie Madden representing First Realty addressed the Council concerning the
Bosserman property south of Brogden Road regarding possible variances for smaller
lots and lesser setback requirements. There was very little support for this type of
variance in that the R-1 requirements should be met.

Annexation North of Old Highway 50
Cecilia Bonifay and Wally Temple addressed the Council regarding the possibility of
annexation property north of Old Highway 50. Miss Bonifay described the property
and its relationship with other properties and the County's Comprehensive Plan. After
considerable discussion Miss Bonifay stated that she and her client would discuss the
annexation and contact the City at a later date.
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
