03-05-1998 Workshop Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING March 5, 1998 A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Thursday, March 5, 1998 at the Police Department Council Chambers. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro Tem Norquist at 6:00 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Cole and Council Member Wolfe. Council Member Brown arrived at approximately 6:10 p.m. Also present was City Manager Saunders, Planning Director Harker and Planner Brown. Evaluation and Appraisal Report Mayor Pro Tem Norquist turned the meeting over to the City Manager. City Manager Saunders gave a brief introduction of the purpose of the Evaluation and Appraisal Report that the Planning Department is putting together for submittal to the Department of Community Affairs. He then introduced Planner Brown who further explained the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) process. He explained that we are planning to submit the preliminary EAR to DCA for a courtesy review and then come back to the City Council on May 8 for final adoption. Council Member Brown arrived at this time. Community Redevelopment Agency City Manager Saunders explained that a draft plan has been produced by the Planning Department and reviewed by the Downtown Partnership of the Community Redevelopment Agency and their comments have been included in the draft. Planner Brown continued by providing additional explanation of the draft plan and stated that he would be setting a date for the first CRA meeting for plan adoption. -6 CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING March 5, 1998 Page 2 Council Members agreed that notification should be given to all property owners within the CRA letting them know where the draft document could be reviewed or acquired. Central Business District Parking Planning Director Harker then reviewed with the Council the proposed changes for the Central Business District Parking. After comments were received from the Council, Planning Director Harker stated that he would continue to work on this amendment and bring it back to the Council at a later date.
