MINUTES
SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
OCTOBER 6, 1997
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Monday, October
6, 1997 in the City Hall Conference Room. The meeting was called to order at 4:30
p.m. by Mayor Pool with the following Council Members present: Council Member
Dupee, Council Member Cole, and Council Member Norquist. Other City officials
present were City Manager Saunders and Deputy City Clerk Whitlock.
Canvassing the Ballots
Mayor Pool stated the purpose of the Special Meeting was to Canvass the Ballots of the
Primary Election that was held September 30, 1997 for Clermont City Council Seats//2
and//4. Mayor Pool read the election results received from Lake County Elections
Supervisor Emogene Stegall, as follows:

Lawson L. Wolfe
487 (37.66%)
29 (2.24%)
769 (59.47%)
Jim Brown
John N. Sargent
Bob Wade
672 (51.97%)
384 (29.69%)
193 (14.92%)
The number of votes cast for Lawson Wolfe and Jim Brown were over 50 % so according
to our Charter, Lawson L. Wolfe won the election for Seat//2 and Jim Brown won the
election for Seat//4.

A motion was made by Council Member Cole, seconded by Council Member
Norquist, and carried unanimously to accept the results o_f the election as
presented.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
