03-18-1997 Workshop Meeting CITY OF CLERMONT MINUTES COUNCIL WORKSHOP MEETING MARCH 18, 1997 A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Tuesday, March 18, 1997 in the City Hall conference room. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pool at 5:30 p.m. with the following Council Members in attendance: Council Member Dupee, Council Member Norquist and Council Member Sargent. Also present was City Manager Saunders, Planning Director Harker and Chief Planner Barry Brown. Community Redevelopment District City Manager Saunders explained that staff has been working on a Community Redevelopment District. Chief Planner Brown explained to the Council the purpose of the District and displayed maps showing the preliminary boundaries. He also discussed the possible make-up of the Board of Directors for the District. It was the consensus that the Board should be made up of the five Council Members and two members from the District. He explained that this would come before the City Council in the form of a resolution. The time flame for adoption was discussed with the Council. It was explained that we need to try to meet this time frame to establish this as our base year for tax purposes. Bloxam Street Sidewalk The bids for the Bloxam Street sidewalk were discussed. The estimated costs were considerably higher than what was anticipated. It was a consensus to eliminate the southern section of the project due to the significant excavation that would be required for this section. City Manager Saunders discussed Public Service Director Davis' proposals to use roll-off containers at the Public Works site for the storage of the recycling materials. There was no opposition to this change in our procedures. Marina Proposed Agreement City Manager Saunders informed the Council that he has been working on a proposed agreement for the lease of the old City Garage property in the event that the Council approves the proposal submitted by DBM Consultants. He recorded the City Council's input and explained that he would continue to work on a draft agreement. Meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m. Attest: ~oseph~~Clerk
