becoming a n~unicipal library. It was stated that the Library Board would like to get out of the
countywide system and become strictly a municipal library. Board representatives stated that an
additional $100,000.00 of funding would be required from the city and that the services of the
library would have to be cut back with regard to the hours and the staff in order to meet the new
budget if they get out of the countywide system. It was explained that the interlocal agreement
with the countywide system expires October 1,2001 and that the library must notify the county
by July 1, 2001 regarding its intentions. City Council stated that they would need further review
of the information and that future meetings would be scheduled. Mayor Turville requested that
