A Workshop Meeting of the City Council of the City of Clermont was held Monday, June 29,
2000, at the Police Department. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Turville.
Council Members Mullins, MacLauchlin, Biddle and Lamb were present. Also present was City
Manager Saunders.
City Manager Saunders introduced Tim McNicholas and Angela Wishart representing C.T. HSU
& Associates, Architects. Mr. McNicholas provided an overview of the Space Needs Analysis
for the new City Hall and reviewed the summary documents with the City Council regarding the
results of the space needs study. Council Member Turville discussed the possibility of including
space temporarily for the Chamber of Commerce that could be used at a later time for expansion.
After further discussion it was consensus to place the Space Needs Analysis study on a City
Council Agenda for approval.
City Manager Saunders discussed the Infrastructure Tax with the City Council and reviewed the
process that is being planned for attempting to reauthorize the tax prior to its sun setting in 2002.
City Manager Saunders also reported that Code Enforcement had picked up approximately 60
real estate signs on Highway 27 over the weekend in response to complaints that have been
received in that area.
City Manager Saunders then discussed with the City Council proposed agreements that are being
discussed with Bell South Mobility and with Nextel for the installation of communication
equipment on the City's water tank and the possibility of a new tower adjacent to the Sewage
Treatment Plant.
There being no more business, the meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
