MAYOR'S EXECUTIVE ORDER 2022-01
AS AUTHORIZED BY RESOLUTION NO.2022-037R EXTENDING THE
LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY RELATED TO HURRICANE IAN
WHEREAS, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order 22-219 dated September 24,
2022, Declaring a State of Emergency for a period of sixty days for specified counties, including
Lake County, related to the storm known as Ian;
WHEREAS, on October 6, 2022 the City Council of the City of Clermont adopted
Resolution No. 2022-037R confirming, adopting and extending the Declaration of Emergency
previously declared by Resolution No. 2022-034R for the municipal boundaries of the City of
Clermont; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2022-037R authorizes the Mayor to extend the Local State
of Emergency; and
WHEREAS, significant rainfall, wind and flooding due to the storm known as Ian may
cause substantial damage to and loss of property including infrastructure, homes, businesses and
other real and personal property and has the potential to cause substantial harm or injury to the
population.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, TIM MURRY, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CLERMONT,
FLORIDA, by virtue of the authority granted by City Council Resolution No. 2022-037R, issue
the following Executive Order.
SECTION 1.
The State of Emergency adopted by Resolution No. 2022-037R of the City Council as it relates to
the storm known as Ian is extended and shall terminate seven (7) days from October 10, 2022,
unless further extended or terminated as provided in Resolution No. 2022-037R.
SECTION 2.
This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall immediately provide a copy of this Executive Order to the members of the
Clermont City Council.
